PASSING OF ALAN PIPER

24th October 2020

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sad loss of another member of our club who passed away on the 23rd October 2020.

“Alan Piper” was one of the club’s early members and was a great supporter of the club having been a past President as well as a Club Captain.

He was also the husband to our current club Chairman Brenda Piper.

Alan had been unwell for some years and spent some of these years in a nursing home.

Our thoughts are now with Brenda and her family.

SANITISING THE MAT UPDATE - STICKY FEET ISSUE

22nd October 2020

The Mats should be wiped at the edges "only" with the sanitised cloth. Do not "spray" the liquid directly onto the mat and only wipe the middle section of the mat if it has for any reason been touched.

This will help to reduce the "sticky feet feeling"

SANITISING THE MATS AND JACKS

20th October 2020

SANITISING THE MATS AND JACKS

It has been noted that members are not sanitising the mats and jacks at the end of their playing session.

As a club we are trying to make sure that all efforts to keep us “ALL” safe are being enacted.

The current rule is for members to hand sanitise both mats and jacks before playing and also again at the end of their playing session.

The next player(s) on the rink repeats the same exercise.

Please make sure that the “Spraying” bottle is used as some members have used the hand sanitiser which makes the mats very sticky.

THE BOARD ASKS THAT ALL PLAYING MEMBERS FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL OUR BOWLING MEMBERS.

IT ONLY TAKES A COUPLE OF MINUTES!

IMPORTANT RINK SIDE UPDATE FROM THE BOARD.

20th October 2020

RINK SIDE ISSUE

It has come to the attention of the board that members are still taking their bowling bags etc down onto the rink.
This situation was acceptable and agreed by the board and management whilst the locker rooms were out of bounds.
However, that is now not the case.
Members are therefore requested not to take bags, or any other bulky items not required for bowling down onto the playing area as this could cause an injury especially in the unlikely event of a fire.

COVID - 19 UPDATE AS AT 15th OCTOBER 2020.

16th October 2020

COVID 19 - UPDATE FROM THE EIBA - AS AT 15th OCTOBER 2020.

The Board is pleased to advise members that due to the fact that we are currently in the “Medium” Covid-19 risk zone, as defined by the Government, our playing status does not change.
The club is therefore able to continue functioning on our current basis.

BOWLSWEAR DIRECT COMING TO THE CLUB

16th October 2020

BOWLSWEAR DIRECT COMING TO THE CLUB.

The Board is pleased to confirm that Bowlswear Direct continue to be one of our loyal club sponsors and will be looking forward to visiting us and our members for their usual “road show” on Wednesday 28th October 2020 between 10:30 and 14:00.

If you can’t make it to the club that day to see what they have available, then don’t despair as they will be visiting us again at the same times on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

So maybe a Christmas present for a loved one could be on the cards?
